UC Berkeley Challenge
1 Start Up
Pear is partnering again with UC Berkeley to provide members of the university’s exceptional entrepreneurial community an opportunity to receive up to $250,000 in funding while becoming part of the Pear portfolio.
Pear will also be designating 10% of our ownership back to UC Berkeley!
To qualify, one member of each founding team must be either enrolled currently as a full time student, or be an alumnus of a degree granting program from UC Berkeley. The winning team will receive up to $250,000 in seed funding, become part of our community, and have access to our network, resources, and “hacker studio” in downtown Palo Alto.
Deadline to apply is: Sunday, February 19, 2017.
We will invest up to $250k in the company via equity seed financing (5%). Pear will designate 10% of our ownership back to UC Berkeley.
The chosen company will work very closely with the Pear investment and operating team. In addition to scheduling regular check-ins with the partners, we will host regular office hours with our extended network. Check out the full list of our operating partners here.
OPTIONAL OFFICE SPACE
The team has the option to work out of our hacker space downtown Palo Alto for up to 9 months, where they will have regular touch points with other Pear founders and partners. Although the use of our space is optional, it is always open to the team for use.
Founders will also have the opportunity to attend exclusive events, including intimate fireside chats with iconic visionaries. Speakers we have hosted include John Doerr, Mark Pincus, Jerry Yang and more. Check out our full list of events here.
